An oriental sabre known as a shamshir. Iron and horn mountings. Crook-shaped pommel, red-stained horn guard plates and a cross-shaped guard. Curved blade with hollow edges and two blood grooves at the heel. Without scabbard; restored. Ottoman Empire, late 18th to early 19th century.
