Wool pile on a cotton backing.
The edges of this carpet are framed by a wide, ‘moulded’ undulating sky-blue border, composed of multicoloured floral scrolls in a winding pattern. It is flanked by an outer garland of spring foliage and rich inner floral compositions that converge on an ivory field towards a magnificent multi-lobed, old-rose central medallion, featuring oblong and cruciform plant motifs. Small signed cartouche (La liberté). A beautiful botanical ensemble.
