Western Asia Minor. Late 19th century.
Wool pile on a wool backing.
A brick-red field with speckles and multicoloured hourglasses, accented with pistils, features four ivory-coloured lozenges adorned with plant motifs. The main border consists of a succession of cruciform floral panels, flanked by two ivory-coloured counter-borders featuring small flowers, more or less stylised. Serrated edging. A fine ethnic piece.
