Wool pile on a cotton backing.
A bluish octagonal counterfield, outlined with ivory zigzags, set against a ruby field, contains a ruby lozenge-shaped medallion, outlined, with an ivory and sky-coloured cruciform centre. The whole is covered with a floral design comprising vases of flowers and multicoloured plant motifs. The main ruby-coloured border features stylised polychrome floral panels, framed by two ivory-coloured counter-borders with garlands of flowers. Highlighting features chess pieces and small flowers. A beautiful colour palette.
