Description
Southern India.
A single-piece wooden Brahmin seat in the shape of a stylised fish.
It was carried by the attendant accompanying a Brahmin setting out on foot on a pilgrimage. During stops, the attendant would place this plank on the ground to keep it free from dust. It has a curved handle to make it easier to carry.
