Description
Facsimile: a rare collection of three facsimiles bound together in a document holder (in 1833).
- Two depictions of the Virgin and Child based on the oldest known woodcut bearing the artist’s name, ‘Bernhardinus Milnet’, dated 1454. Both were lithographed in 1820 and are numbered; one is in black and the other in colour (Nos. 10 and 11 of 40 copies)
- Another black-and-white print, No. 24 of 25 copies, lithographed in 1819, depicting Saint Bernard from 1454 (woodcut print).
These documents were presented on 20 June 1833 in Mons by Mr DELMOTTE, Librarian and Curator of the State Archives.
In good condition.
