A cabinet in ebony and tortoiseshell veneer, with an architecturally shaped design, opening via two doors to reveal nine drawers and a third door opening onto a theatre. A large drawer in the lower section.
Holland, late 17th century
This cabinet is adorned with painted panels, possibly a set, depicting portraits of sovereigns with their coats of arms, including Louis XIII and Anne of Austria. The two main doors reveal the arms of France as well as other coats of arms within the theatre.
Gilded bronze ornamentation including lock plates, mascarons and chimera-shaped pull handles.
