Jacobus Storck was a Dutch painter of the Golden Age. He was the brother of the
painters Abraham Storck and Jan Storck, from whom he distinguished himself through his
harbour views and his refined architectural compositions. His work is
often confused with that of his brothers.
These panels exemplify the taste of 17th-century Dutch painters for
Italianate harbour landscapes, blending real and
imaginary architecture.
