Shoichi HASEGAWA (1929–2023). An abstract composition in shades of red, blue and black. Colour lithograph, signed in pencil in the bottom right-hand corner, with the inscription ‘EA’ and a Japanese monogram in red in the bottom left-hand corner. Bears the stamp ‘Atelier Art Estampe 1985–2004 JM Machet’ at the bottom centre. Height: 75.5 cm – Width: 55.5 cm Note: Shōichi Hasegawa has developed an abstract printmaking practice in which Far Eastern calligraphy, the symbolism of forms and a particularly vivid colour palette come together.
