Meudon et Compagnie 18K yellow gold (750 thousandths) pocket watch with hour and quarter-hour repeater, featuring a mechanical movement. - round case, smooth bezel, Empire-style lugs, Omega push-in lug for activating the striking function, transparent ‘officer’ case back revealing an 18K yellow gold movement plate engraved with a cherub crowning a woman draped in the classical style amidst a chiselled floral setting. - White enamel dial with black-painted Breguet-style hour markers and numerals, stylised hands. Dial and movement signed Case numbered 4064, case back numbered 280 DHK 08 and 1328 Mechanical movement with cock and chain – fusée Diameter: 54 mm – Gross weight: 121 g Condition report: - Cosmetic condition: good condition, normal wear and tear, bent hour hand - Mechanical condition: the watch was not running at the time of the appraisal; a service is recommended (the watch is sold as is, with no guarantee of functionality) Expert’s note: Meuron et Compagnie was founded in the late 18th century by the Italian watchmaker Guglielmo Meuron, who served his apprenticeship with Louis Abraham Breguet. In Tardy’s *Dictionnaire des Horlogers français*, on page 460, we learn that his master subcontracted a few alarm watches to him.
