A collection of signed autograph letters sent by various members of the Riquet–Caraman–Chimay family.
Letters from Louis-Charles-Victor (1762–1839), Maurice-Gabriel (1765–1835), François-Joseph (1771–1843), Victor-Marie-Joseph (1786–1837), Joseph (1808–1886), Louise (1815–1876) and Alphonse de Riquet de Caraman Chimay (1810–1865) – the principal descendants, who held the titles of Count, Marquis, Countess or Princess of Caraman, or Prince or Princess of Chimay.
The collection comprises 33 signed autograph letters written between 1811 and 1876, covering a variety of subjects; one of them refers to the Canal du Midi, which was designed by Pierre-Paul Riquet.
