Signed ‘E. BARRIAS’ on the plinth of the naturalistic terrace, inscribed ‘To my dear friend Levillain’ and dated 1903 No foundry mark (sand casting) Circa 1895–1903 Provenance: - the family of Ferdinand Levillain (1837–1905), sculptor, medallist, engraver and friend of Barrias Height: 27.5 cm Width: 11.5 cm Depth: 10 cm Another similar model, inscribed ‘To my dear Vernon – With affectionate regards’, was offered at Artcurial on 16 June 2020.
