Adolphe BLANQUI (1798–1854). Letter from the author (L.A.S.), Paris, 28 June 1825, to Miss Octavia Say, at Bayswater, near London; 3 pages in-4 on fine paper, address with postmarks (small tear in the postmark not affecting the text). An interesting letter to the daughter of the economist Jean-Baptiste Say, born in 1804. He had learnt from Horace that their journey had gone well, and he imagines the pleasures of their stay in England, mocking the ‘masquerades of the coronation ’ [of Charles X] in Paris: ‘two fireworks displays that killed three people, and distributions of food a hundred times more disgusting than usual.
