Ossip ZADKINE (1890–1967). Autograph letter, Marseille, 8 May 1922; 2 pages, in-8 format, on Café Riche letterhead. To a philatelist in Grenoble, to whom he supplies stamps. He is making the most of a few days in Marseille with his wife, who has just returned from Algeria, ‘with a tanned complexion […], I am basking in a sunshine unknown in Paris. So I shall return to you refreshed, rosy-cheeked and perfumed by the warmth of the quays, so pleasing to northerners.
