Paris, published by Barrois, Year V (1797). 1 volume in-4°, contemporary binding in full porphyry calf. Smooth spine with title and gilt decoration, marbled edges. Binding carefully restored, spine lined and re-sewn, joints reinforced, corners restored, endpapers replaced. XXX ff. – 656 pp., a few scattered pinholes. Complete with all 49 plates, including 20 relating to the numerous varieties of medicinal plants (numbered 1 to 20 in Arabic numerals) and 29 illustrations of anatomy, instruments and tools used by the groom, the farrier or the surgeon, of vermin, harnesses, bits, saddles, etc. (XXIX in Roman numerals). A pleasant copy despite its restoration.
