Montesquieu (Charles Louis de Secondat) The Works of Monsieur de Montesquieu, new edition. London: Nourse, 1767. 3 volumes in-4°, early 19th-century binding in full porphyry calf, front cover with a gilt garland of foliage as a border. Gilt roulette on the edges and fillets; ribbed spine adorned with gilt metal fittings; title labels in red morocco; volume numbers in green and red morocco; yellow speckled edges; endpapers combed in the same shade. The binding is in fine condition with some normal wear to the covers and joints. Collated and complete: frontispiece and 2 maps in volume 1; the text block is very clean, with no foxing. A fine, complete 3-volume set, including, amongst others, *The Persian Letters* and *The Spirit of the Laws*.
