Florian – Grandville: Florian’s Fables, illustrated by J. J. Grandville. Paris: Dubochet et Cie, publishers, 1843. 1 publisher’s hardback in-8°, full black percaline, with a romantic polychrome design on the covers depicting a goose and a hare framed by a polychrome gilded garland. Spine illustrated in the same style. All edges gilt; spine very slightly sun-faded. Black-and-white illustrations in this Grandville classic. A few pinholes, but few compared to what is usually seen in this edition. Included are La Fontaine’s Fables, illustrated by Grandville, published in Paris by Garnier, undated (circa 1880). 1 volume in-4°, publisher’s binding in burgundy half-shagreen, ribbed spine with gilt framing in the panels.
