Description
Loti (Pierre) – Somm (Henry) *La chanson des vieux époux*. Paris, Librairie Conquet, 1899. 1 in-12 volume, in a bordered slipcase, bound in full bronze-green morocco, ribbed spine with author, title and date in gold lettering, all edges gilt. Inside covers framed by a geometric gilt garland. Attractive mosaic decoration and blind-stamped fillets on the front cover depicting water lilies. (Bound by P. Ruban, 1902). Spine slightly faded. Covers preserved without the spine. A copy not set in Japanese paper, one of 300 copies not released for sale; a copy presented to Mr A. Granjon de Lépiney accompanied by a lovely little watercolour, unsigned but dated 1899. Colour illustrations in the text by Henry Somm. A fine copy.
