Gilded head. Covers and spine preserved. (Pouillet binding). A collector’s edition on tinted paper from the Imperial Manufactories of Japan, a copy printed for Madame Pauline Viardot. 128 original woodcuts by Lobrichon, printed in black; this copy on Japanese paper is accompanied by a black-and-white suite inserted within the volume.
