Spine with raised bands, featuring the author’s name, title and illustrator’s name in gold lettering. Gold-edged top. Unsigned binding. Spine somewhat sun-faded. A print run of 225 copies on Lana vellum. Very fine black etchings in the text by Jean Frélaut. Copy countersigned by the artist in pencil on the proof of print run. Clean and free from foxing. Enclosed is a folio-sized booklet in loose sheets, bound in a slipcase, entitled: ‘Eloge de Jean Frélaut’ by Jacques de Laprade. Published by Manuel Bruker, publisher in Paris, 1950. Printed in an edition of 200 copies on Rives vellum (no. 64). This copy comprises 9 original etchings, 7 insert plates and 2 headbands. Free from foxing.
