Loti (Pierre) – Becque (Maurice de) *Le Mariage de Loti*. Paris, Lemercier bookshop, 1927. 1 paperback volume, large quarto, with a hardback cover featuring colour illustrations. Spine somewhat sun-faded. A fine copy, free from foxing, illustrated in colour with reproductions of watercolours by Maurice de Becque. Only 280 copies were printed; this one bears the number 190, printed on Lafuma pure-fibre vellum. Also included is ‘Légendes bretonnes’ by the same illustrator, Paris, Éditions de l’Abeille d’Or, 1921. 1 paperback volume, in-8°, with a gilt-edged cover illustrated in colour; copy number 339 on Japanese paper. Clean and free from foxing. Maurice de Becque (1878–1938). A talented draughtsman, renowned engraver, prolific illustrator and recognised animal painter, the artist’s work spans from Brittany to Russia.
