Description
Poe (Edgar) – Rochegrosse (Georges) *The Gold-Bug*. Paris: Ferroud, 1926. 1 volume, in-8°, in a contemporary half-maroquin binding in coarse-grained burgundy with corner pieces. Smooth spine with author’s name, title and garland of flowers in gold, with a gilt head. Cover preserved. Spine sun-faded. The edition comprised 650 copies; this is one of 25 copies on Holland paper, numbered in Roman numerals, bearing the number XII. It contains the four states of the illustrations plus the colour separation for one plate. Clean and free from foxing. Included is one paperback volume in 8vo, also published by Ferroud in Paris in 1925: *La Princesse de Clèves* by Madame de La Fayette, illustrated in colour by Serge Solomko. A clean copy, no. 896, printed on fine Arches vellum.
