Description
Map of Belle-Île-en-Mer: Map of Bell’Isle divided into parishes. English map drawn by Thomas Jefferys, circa 1761.
Map 18 x 14 cm, trimmed flush with the plate at the top margin, less so on the other sides; a very small tear in the top left-hand corner, which does not affect the map. The island’s outline is highlighted in colour. An identical map, but in a slightly different format, was engraved for ‘The Universal Magazine’ for J. Hinton in Newgate Street.
