Description
Bertius (Petrus) – Map of Brittany: 3 small maps: - The first: 12.5 x 8.5 cm, mounted in a passe-partout. According to Claude Gaudillat’s book, *Ancient Maps of Brittany 1582–1800*, this map, plate no. 3, dates from 1600 as its page number in the top right-hand corner is 141. - The second, ‘Britannia’, measures 12 x 8.5 cm. Again according to Gaudillat, this map, plate no. 2, is taken from Abraham Ortelius’s *Theatre of the World*, drawn by Galle; its first appearance in this atlas dates from 1588. - The third: 14 x 9.9 cm. Gaudillat specifies that this map, drawn by Manesson-Mallet, dates from 1683. Plate no. 20 from the five-volume atlas *Description de l’univers*. That is to say, three maps in good condition.
