Description
Méheut (Mathurin) *Study of the Sea*. Paris, Editions Albert Lévy, 1924. Second edition. 2 folio volumes, publisher’s binding in full grey/green percaline, plain spine with title and decoration in white, front cover with title and a white seahorse design. The percaline is slightly faded, more noticeably on the spines. Interior very clean, binding in fine condition. Two black-and-white reproductions have been pasted onto the reverse of the front cover of each volume. Numerous reproductions in bistre and green within the text; only the 50 colour plates are numbered. In this second edition, they are printed directly onto the pages rather than being pasted on as in the first edition. Collated and complete. 22 plates in Volume I and 28 in the second.
