Description
Couillaud (Noëlie) *Anthology of Contemporary Headdresses and Types of the Breton People in Relation to their Ethnic Origins*. Saint-Brieuc: Éditions de la Bretagne Touristique, 1925. 1 volume, in-4°, paperback, with an orange embossed cover. A print run of 500 copies; this copy, no. 396, is printed on vellum. A rare work comprising 80 black-and-white plates of headdresses based on drawings by Noëlie Couillaud. A very fresh copy with a lovely colour frontispiece. Also included is a 1-volume in-12 paperback by Maurice Bigot, with a green cover featuring a medallion photograph on the front entitled ‘Les coiffes bretonnes’, published in Saint-Brieuc by Aubert in 1928. In very good condition, featuring 100 headdress designs reproduced by photograph.
