Description
Loti (Pierre) – Cheffer (Henri) – Fouqueray (Charles) *The Fisherman of Iceland*. Paris: Piazza Art Editions, 1945. 1 volume, in-4°, bound in full grey-green morocco, ribbed spine with blind-stamped fillets, author’s name and title gilded, gilded head. Inside covers framed in morocco with gilded fillet. Covers and spine preserved. Spine very slightly sun-faded. Copy no. 233 on vellum from a print run of 1,000 copies. Well bound and free from foxing, superb colour illustration by Cheffer. Also included is a work by the same author, illustrated by Fouqueray: *Matelot*, published in Paris by Calmann-Lévy, 1936. 1 volume in-4°, publisher’s binding in red half-basane with corner caps, with author’s name and title gilt on the spine; normal wear and tear, particularly along the raised bands. Lovely colour illustrations by this great official painter to the Navy.
