Description
Loti (Pierre) – Rudeaux (Edmond-Adolphe) *The Fisherman of Iceland*. Paris, Calmann Lévy, 1893. 1 volume in-4°, bound in full fawn morocco with a morocco-edged slipcase, spine with five raised bands bearing the author’s name, title and five gold fillets in the panels, covers framed by a five-line gilt border, which is repeated on the endpapers surrounding the moiré, all edges gilt on endpapers, (bound by J.F. Barbance). Covers and spine intact. A very clean copy, free from foxing, with small stains at the lower margins of pages 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. A copy printed for Mr Alexandre Dumas the Younger on paper from the Imperial Japanese paper mills, comprising a triple set of etchings (pure etching, final state with a note, proofs with the letter). The work was printed in a run of 650 copies on various types of paper and only 50 copies on Japanese paper.
