Description
Souvestre (Émile) – Dauchez (André) *Le foyer breton*, folk tales and stories. Paris, Société des amis du livre moderne, 1910.
1 volume, in-4°, contemporary binding in full chocolate-coloured morocco, cold-stamped fillet and gilt fillets framing the covers, ribbed spine with gilt author’s name and title, all edges gilt. Red morocco half-leather endpapers with a mosaic of flowers in frames made of yellow, green, old rose and black morocco; flying endpapers of cashmere-patterned fabric in shades of burgundy red and turquoise. (Bound by Ch. Meunier, 1911). Covers and spine preserved. Minor scuffing on the fore-edges and the raised bands; fore-edges slightly weakened by the weight of the covers. Only 150 copies of this work were printed on a single type of paper; this copy, no. 142, was printed specially for Emile Berr on handmade paper. Dauchez’s etchings were printed by Mr Wittmann. A very well-bound copy, in excellent condition and free from foxing.
