Suarès (André) – Brouet (Auguste) *The Book of the Emerald*. Paris: Les Éditions d’Art Devambez, 1927. 1 folio volume, bound in full navy blue morocco leather, smooth spine with author’s name and title in gold lettering, gold fillets on the covers; a small varnished gouache (13 x 8) depicting windmills is inserted into the front cover. Inside covers lined with midnight blue box calf, flying endpapers of moiré in the same blue. (Bound by Gonin). Covers and spine intact. Volume clean and free from foxing. A print run of 200 copies; this is one of the forty copies on Japanese paper containing the proof with remarks and the final version of the 25 etchings, bearing the number 24. Includes the subscription form and three loose leaves inserted into the volume. A very fine black-and-white illustration by Auguste Brouet.
