Description
Vercel (Roger) – Collot (André) Captain Conan. Paris, at the Pen-Mur Press, 1947. 1 volume, large quarto, full red morocco leather in a cardboard slipcase, with a gilt decoration on the front cover depicting a hunting horn on a black morocco leather panel. Blind-stamped bands on the covers. Spine with raised bands, author’s name and title in gold, gilt head. Covers preserved without the spine. (Bound by A. Bruel, Angers). A copy from the first edition, one of 25 printed on Malacca paper with the antlers engraved in colour. This copy includes its two sets of plates: one in black and white, the second in two-tone, plus an original drawing in pencil and colour signed by Collot. Sent by the author ‘to Mr André Coquelin, this story of “victors” as a very fond memento, Roger Vercel’. Clean and free from foxing.
