Description
Assolant – Job by François Bûchamor. Paris, Delagrave bookshop, 1897. 1 volume, in-4°, bound in blue half-maroquin with corner caps, ribbed spine with author’s name and title in gold. All edges gilt. Spine slightly darkened. Superb black-and-white illustrations by Job within the text and a few colour plates as inserts. A fine copy, free from foxing. Included is 1 volume in-8°, La Fontaine’s Fables illustrated by Grandville, in the publisher’s binding in black half-shagreen, published by Garnier frères in Paris in 1859. The interior is generally very clean, with normal wear to the binding, scuffing on the edges, and some discolouration of the percaline on the covers. That is, 2 volumes
