Two parts in one quarto volume in marbled fawn calfskin, decorated ribbed spine, title label, edges speckled red (contemporary binding); (10) ff., 216 pp., 35/36 plates numbered 1 to 33 (there are duplicate plates 14, 18 and 19): plate no. 19 is MISSING. Restored binding; the two endpapers are missing and have been replaced by a sheet of vellum; a cut-out section on the margin of the title page has been restored with ink stamps. FIRST EDITION of this famous treatise. 35/36 fold-out plates. A second volume, comprising a practical treatise on mining and warfare in general, was published in 1742. From the LIBRARY of Count FOLCHI, with a sepia-engraved bookplate. AS IS.
