[TRAVELS]. YOUNG (Arthur). TRAVELS IN FRANCE, during the years 1787–88–89 and 90, undertaken specifically to ascertain the state of agriculture, wealth, resources and prosperity of that nation. Paris, Buisson, 1794. Three in-8 volumes in glazed fawn calfskin, covers decorated with a gilt roulette border, smooth, compartmentalised and decorated spine, title and volume number labels in garnet morocco, filleted edges and caps (contemporary binding). The leather is worn with small losses of leather and gilding on the covers. SECOND EDITION of the French translation by F. Soulès, corrected and enriched with notes and observations by M. de Casaux. TWO fold-out maps included as inserts, one of which is a watercolour. From the library of ‘Dr Delvaille / Bayonne’ (bookplate/library label).
