Large quarto, black Russian leather, gilt framing on the covers with gilt title on the front cover, smooth spine with flat raised bands decorated with gilt panels, brass clasps, inner edge decorated with a wide gilt lace border, gilt edges (19th-century binding); 16 plates of bevelled heavy card, all mounted on tabs. HAND-MADE ALBUM containing 16 PLATES of COATS OF ARMS, CRESTs and MONOGRAMS, hand-drawn, embossed, watercoloured and gilded. SUPERB WORK produced in the 19th century, clearly English in origin, of exquisite craftsmanship.
