ORIGINAL EDITION, uncommon, of these Napoleonic memoirs, published in the ‘Mémoires contemporains’ collection. ¶ Tulard, 170: ‘These memoirs were a great success from the moment they were published. The final chapters describe the collapse of Joseph’s regime. His account is CRUCIAL regarding the atrocities of the guerrilla war.”
