MILLON-JOURNEL (Mrs Emilie, née Verneuil). *Les enfants du vieux château* (The Children of the Old Castle), a work intended for the education and amusement of young people. Paris, Widow of Renard, 1824–1832, 40 small 12mo volumes. Bound in 20 volumes in fawn half-basane, ribbed spines with gilt scrolls and fleurons, marbled edges. (Contemporary bindings). - One hinge slightly gnawed, some minor rodent damage to the spines, affecting an area the size of a fingernail on two of them. A small tear on a leaf in vol. 36, with loss of a few letters. This impressive collection of stories for young people is rarely found complete. (Gumuchian, 4042).
