Translated from the Italian by M. Chompré. Paris, Didot fils aîné, Jombert jeune, 1786, in-4, 2ff.-XVpp.-478pp.- 18 plates. Brown half-calf, spine with raised bands soberly highlighted by gold fillets. (Contemporary binding). – A fine copy despite a few rare, minor stains. First edition of Chompré’s French translation. 12 tables and 6 plates of geometric figures. (Quérard II, p. 13 & Sotheran I 662 cite only the second edition, 1808).
