[THEATRE] - Almanac of Performances: A continuation of the former Almanac of Performances published from 1752 to 1815. Paris, Librairie des Bibliophiles, 1874–1898, 24 (of 27) small 12mo volumes. Paperback, folded covers. - Volumes in good condition. From 1874 (when publication began) to 1898, the following are missing: 1892; 1896 and 1897. Includes volumes 19 and 20, ‘Tables’ and ‘Overview’. Each volume is adorned with a lovely frontispiece by Gaucherel or Lalauze. First published by P. Milliet and A. Soubies, then by Soubies alone, the *Almanach des spectacles* (which is billed as a continuation of the *Almanach Duchesne*) devotes considerable space to the Comédie Française, but also devotes equal attention to smaller theatres and neighbourhood venues, and provides extensive information on reviews, various competitions and prizes, obituaries and bibliography. It had a print run of 500 copies. Grand-Carteret 3029. Volume 19, ‘General Index’, and Volume 20, ‘Overview’, are dated 1892 and 1893 respectively.
