ANTONY-THOURET (Pierre). Reims in the aftermath of the war. Based on the notes and photographs of Mr Pierre Antony-Thouret. Paris, Budry, 1927, folio, 36 pp. – 137 plates. Folio-sized portfolio, with a laced cover. – One of 1,000 copies printed on Aussédat paper. Title page slightly yellowed; the rest is in fresh condition. An important series, carefully reproduced in heliogravure by the Soc. de Gravure et d’Impression d’Art in Cachan, based on the photographs of P. Antony-Thouret. Of remarkable technical quality, they depict the ruins of the cathedral and the city. Published to raise funds for the cathedral’s restoration, with a print run of 1,170 copies, this unusual series is preceded by a hand-signed preface by Cal. Luçon, an introduction by G. Charbonneaux and 28 pages of explanations of the views. Some plates feature two views. (Not listed in the Lhermitte catalogue).
