HORTICULTURE – MANUSCRIPT. An elementary, theoretical and practical course in ARBORICULTURE, FLORICULTURE and VEGETABLE GARDENING, by Jean VERSEPUY at the Clermont-Ferrand School of Horticulture, 1874–1876. 3 vols. in-8. 500 pp.–70 pp. / 338 pp.–65 pp. / 260 pp. Black or brown half-basane, smooth spines. Caps with trimmed tops; leather rubbed with some losses. Interior in good condition; the title pages are handwritten in calligraphy; the handwriting is neat and very legible. The student Jean Versepuy transcribed his three years of studies at the Clermont School of Horticulture and provides an account of the teaching methods and the types of plants cultivated in the second half of the 19th century.
