4- BAUDELAIRE (Charles): ‘Les Fleurs du Mal, with an introduction by Théophile Gautier’, Paris: Michel Lévy Frères, publishers, 1869 (title page stating ‘second edition’). 3 unnumbered leaves (half-title, frontispiece portrait and title page) and 411 numbered pages. A few foxing spots. Contemporary red half-shagrin binding with corner pieces. Spine with faux raised bands in panels decorated with fleurons, scrolls and stars. A fine copy. RARE second issue of the third edition, partly in the original form, expanded to include 25 new poems.
