Sudre, in olive percaline, with embossed decoration on the covers and spine of the text volume, and the publisher’s illustrated green percaline glued to the covers and spines of the atlas volumes, untrimmed.
First edition, illustrated with 320 finely colour-lithographed plates.
A very fine copy, from the fine library of Dr Félix Durosier (heraldic bookplate, late 19th century), then from Gilbert Dufaux’s natural history library (bookplates and embossed stamps on the title pages and in the margins of plates 39 and 161).
