Natural History of Shells… Paris, Verdière, 1824.— Natural History of Crustaceans… Paris, Roret, 1828. 2 works in 5 + 2 in-12 volumes, 8 x 13.5 cm, 2 folios, CXXXVI + 336 pp., 1 folded plate & 2 ff., 326 pp., 15 plates (numbered 1–29) & 2 ff., 288 pp., 13 plates (numbered 14–28) & 2 ff., 264 pp., 8 plates (numbered 27–36) & 2 ff., 228 pp., 8 plates (numbered 37–44) & 1 f., 328 pp., 12 plates (numbered 9), 1 folded plate & 1 f., 306 pp., 12 plates (numbered 10–18 bis), contemporary bindings in brown half-basane, spines decorated with faux raised bands and gilt motifs. Enriched second editions. Illustrated with 44 plates (for the Shells) and 24 plates (for the Crustaceans), all engraved and mostly finely coloured. The plate of the Shells is cut and incomplete. Very fine copies, from Gilbert Dufaux’s natural history library (dry-stamped on the title pages and p. 39 of the first volume).
