In-4, 20.5 x 26 cm, 2 folios, 320 + 4 pp., 14 plates, modern binding in fawn half-basane, ribbed spine decorated with gilt motifs, untrimmed. First edition, printed in a small run, of this important work on Hymenoptera by the Genevan physician and naturalist Jurine (1751–1819). The remainder of the work remained unpublished. Illustrated with 14 plates engraved from drawings by Christine Jurine, the author’s daughter, 9 of which were coloured at the time. Good condition.
