First edition, rare, published in 144 instalments. Illustrated with 303 fine plates, depicting nearly 1,600 beetles engraved after Jules Migneaux and coloured and gummed by his wife. Lacking the chapter on pp. 201–236 of the catalogue. Pages 85–96 of the catalogue appear to be missing. A very fine copy, formerly in the natural history libraries of Tantet-Dufour (ex-libris) and subsequently of Gilbert Dufaux (dry-stamped seals on the title pages and on page 39).
