First edition of this important work by Jean-Louis-Marie Poiret (1755–1834), a French botanist and explorer. Illustrated with 128 plates (including plate 16 bis), lithographed by Charles Motte and delicately coloured in period, collected in an atlas volume. A very fine copy in a Romantic-style binding.
