Description
A booklet comprising fourteen plates, forming part of the first volume of the *Mémoires de la Société linnéenne de Paris*. Paris: at the Secretariat of the Linnean Society, Audot and Debeausseaux, 1822. In-4, 21 x 29.5 cm, 2 + 14 ff., frontispiece portrait and 13 plates, contemporary binding in fawn half-basane, spine decorated with gilt faux-ribbing.
First edition of the atlas accompanying the first volume of the Memoirs of the Linnean Society of Paris, re-established in December 1821.
Illustrated with a lithographed portrait of Linnaeus and 12 plates depicting mosses, engraved after J. G. Prêtre, a view of the ‘chapel oak’ at Allouville and a facsimile of a letter by Linnaeus.
