Description
DUHAMEL DU MONCEAU (Henri-Louis). A Treatise on the Trees and Shrubs Cultivated in France… New edition, expanded by more than half in terms of the number of species… [Atlas]. Paris, Étienne Michel, 1804. Folio, 25 x 38 cm, 2 folios, 205 plates (out of 307), binding from the second half of the 19th century in fawn half-basane, spine decorated with gilt and embossed faux-nerves. A collection of 205 of the 307 beautiful plates, finely engraved after Redouté, for Duhamel du Monceau’s *Traité des arbres*… Handwritten name and number in ink on each plate, in several contemporary handwritings, some of which have been touched by the bookbinder’s knife. A very fine copy. A few minor pinholes and stains, nothing serious. A small tear has been repaired over the words ‘tome second’ on the title page and half-title page. The binding is slightly stained. - Expert: Cédric and Ithier de FOUGEROLLE
