Didot the Younger, 1771–1775. 6 volumes in-8, 12.5 × 19.5 cm, 2 folios, LVI + 246 pp., 1 folio, 2 folded plates & 2 folios, 416 pp., 2 folded plates & 2 ff., 528 pp. & 2 ff., 522 pp. & 2 ff., 42 pp. & 2 ff., 296 pp., contemporary binding in fawn calfskin, triple gilt fillet framing the covers, spine decorated with faux raised bands and gilt motifs, gilt fillet at the edges, gilt inner wheel, gilt edges on marbled paper. First edition of these annotated translations of the works of the Latin agronomists Cato, Varro, Columella, Palladius and Vegetius. Illustrated with 4 folded engraved plates. A fine copy, from the natural history library of Gilbert Dufaux (dry-stamped on the title page and p. 39 of the sixth volume).
